From all the notes we’ve seen over the years, the From all the notes we’ve seen over the years, the tabs on VHS tapes were really confusing to many people.  If the tab is missing, it will prevent recording.  You can put a piece of tape over the hole and it will allow recording.  But keeping it open is the best way to prevent accidents.  Many memories lost because someone accidentally taped a TV show over the kids at Christmas.  #vhs #protip
Technicolor Super8 film cartridges like these were Technicolor Super8 film cartridges like these were used in museums and visitor centers to show short films.  The spiral wound, looping cartridge meant staff didn’t have to thread the projector and the film could automatically loop all day long. 

These were the offspring of the Regular 8 cartridge system that Technicolor developed in the 1950s for home use.  Traveling salesmen could also take them to meetings to show a film about their product. 

Of course these were all later replaced by Laserdisc, VHS, and DVD systems that were less prone to jamming or breaking.
